About The Verge Awards for Teens on the Verge of Greatness!
"Our mission is to celebrate and support the dreams of young creators, innovators, athletes and changemakers - teens on the verge of greatness – and empower them to use their passions to achieve positive impact in this world." Linda Neaton, Founder
So we built this online stage and awards program to shine the spotlight on thousands of teens and host weekly benefit variety shows where THEY will raise $millions from show sponsors for causes they really care about.
This is a wonderful way for creative youth to express themselves during this difficult time, hear applause and encouragement in spite of event cancellations, and support racial equality, coronavirus relief, LGBTQ Youth, Vote 2020 and other causes at the same time. It will be tremendously empowering, and we hope this experience will ignite in them a life-long desire to help others.
Fans - you can help, just by watching! And even more by spreading the word! That's because the bigger the audience, the more sponsorship funds these amazing kids will raise. And we're relying on you, their families, friends, educators and community members to help make this a time in their lives they won't ever forget - in a good way.
Let's show them our love and support!
With abundant hope,
Linda

online nationwide high school talent shows!
It's so easy to enter:
Students can upload videos of performances, narrated videos of artwork, science and technology inventions and more, into their specific categories. (We’re also issuing specific challenges each week, such as “perform your grandparents’ favorite song from back in the day for them – because they miss you!”)
All entries will be organized by category and posted after screening for appropriate content for public viewing. This is bringing order to the thousands that are otherwise being submitted via Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and so on.
Weekly talent shows:
In addition, each week starting in late April we'll produce a new online nationwide high school talent show featuring randomly selected entries across all categories.
We’ll also feature staff favorites, and we hope guest celebrities will pick their favorites too (these can be random if preferred). Each weekly episode will also include remote interviews with featured performers, celebrities, teachers and so on, along with additional inspirational, educational and entertaining content.
Weekly talent contests:
Depending on the feedback we receive from entrants, we may invite fans to be “casting directors” and vote for their favorites from among all entries. This introduces a separate competitive element to the shows. At the end of the season (8-12 weeks TBD), we’ll present each of the performances by category and encourage fans to vote for the nationwide winner in each category. When it is safe to gather and travel, we hope to have each winner perform live or present their artwork and inventions.
